The Heart of Bacci Kid

Across the Bacci Kid collection, and woven through the heart of the Love Means We Won activity book, lives a single belief: creative expression and personal growth spring from the same source. Both build community. Both build connection. Both give us the courage to grow.

Together, they become a kind of compass for a busy world. They help us set meaningful intentions, build a foundation for the lives we want, cultivate gratitude, and learn to picture our dreams so clearly we can almost touch them. One of Dr. Jamie's most beloved tools is the vision board, because it transforms a private hope into something you can see, return to, and walk toward a little more each day. The act of making one reveals a quiet truth: our heart's desires are far more real, and far more reachable, than we let ourselves believe.

And then there is the phoenix.

Throughout the series you'll find Dr. Jamie's own creation: a double-headed phoenix, rising. It is a symbol of strength and transformation, of wisdom, balance, and the quiet grace of becoming who we were always meant to be. She designed its two heads to honor the masculine and the feminine that live within every one of us, the steady and the tender, held in loving balance like yin and yang.

The phoenix is a reminder that we are not asked to be only our light. We are invited to love all of ourselves: our healthy strength and our softness, our gifts and our shadows. When we meet our shadows with compassion instead of fear, they become gentle companions rather than something to hide. The Secret at the Center of Everything

Bacci is real. He is my first Bengal, my heart cat, the truest friend I have ever known. The world once said a small kink in his tail meant he could never be a show cat, that he was flawed. I always knew the opposite was true. That little imperfection was never a flaw. It was the whole point. It is what makes him Bacci. Energy is never created and never destroyed, it only moves and changes form, and so his never left. I simply built a world big enough to hold it, a place where his spirit keeps playing, keeps teaching, keeps loving. In these stories I am J'aime, his superhuman momma, because that is who I am to him, still.

And his friends are real too. Princess Love is my Bengal girl. She came to me so small she fit in the palm of one hand, so fragile the world was not sure she would stay. I held her through every uncertain night, and she did more than stay. She grew into exactly what her name promised. She is living proof that the smallest, most fragile beginning can hold the fiercest heart. Prince GQ UniKym is my snow white Maine Coon, my prince from far away, every inch of him regal and ethereal. Each of them carries a story of their own, and like Bacci, each one turns the thing that made them different into the thing that makes them magnificent. They are my family. And now they are yours to love too.

The series simply helps us remember it is there, and gives us permission to let it shine. Finding your purpose can be the work of a lifetime, and this series exists to walk beside people of every age as they reach for their full potential and grow into who they truly are, as singular and unrepeatable as a fingerprint. We were born to live our own journeys and our own adventures, the ones behind us and the ones still to come. And we were never meant to do it alone. However different our paths, our memories, our purposes, we are all, always, interconnected.

About Dr. J

aka Dr. Jamie J. Karia, DSW, LCSW

Some people find one calling. Dr. Jamie has answered several, and somehow woven them into one.

Her path began at Clark University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology, before completing her clinical Master of Social Work at Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City. Driven by what she calls a never-ending quest for knowledge, she went on to earn her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW), graduate from Coach U's Core Essentials life-coaching program, and add certifications spanning coaching and holistic wellness, including Level 2 Reiki.

Over a career spanning decades, she has worked across a remarkable range of settings and with an equally remarkable range of people, from artists, celebrities, and public figures to teens, parents, children, and seniors. That depth of real-world experience is the foundation beneath everything Bacci Kid creates, and the reason it rings true.

Dr. Jamie is also the Founder and CEO of the social-impact fashion brand at Jaime.store, where every piece carries a purpose. The brand supports causes close to her heart, including Books For Kids, the Child Mind Institute, Freedom For All, the Children's Alopecia Project, Vibrant Emotional Health, the Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport, the Elephant Crisis Fund, and Foundation House. For Dr. Jamie, giving back was never a footnote to the work. It is the whole point of it.

She lives the way she creates: fully, and in color. Through dance and music, painting and writing, travel and adventure, forest bathing and the pull of the ocean, and a deep, unapologetic love for her feline family. Bacci Kid is how she shares all of it with the world.
