🎲 Tapestry of Love: Game 3 - The Past

The Goal: Look back to where it all began: A journey into the memories, lessons, and moments that shaped who you are today.

 

Game Instructions:

Click on this link to access a virtual dice roller that you can use to move your pieces in the board game.

  • 🎭 = An interactive activity for you or the group.
  • 🔴, 🔵, 🟢 = Spaces linked to Passion/Trust/Growth questions.

1. Setup:

  1. The host/facilitator shares the virtual game board image via screen share so all players can see. The host is in charge of moving virtual player tokens or updating their positions on the board. 
  2. Each player is assigned a token (symbol, letter, or emoji) to represent them on the board.
  3. Players each receive a Tapestry Tracker Sheet (either a shared Google Doc to edit digitally or a printable sheet).
  4. The host explains the basic rules and determines a winner condition:
    • Example: The game ends when all players reach the center of the board, or after a predetermined number of rounds.
  5. The host opens a digital dice roller for players to roll virtually during their turn. Click on this link to access a virtual dice roller that you can use to move your pieces in the board game.

2. How Turns Work:

On a player’s turn:

  1. Roll the Dice and Move:
    The player rolls the dice to determine how many spaces they move forward, and the host updates their position on the board. Click on this link to access a virtual dice roller that you can use to move your pieces in the board game.

  2. Land on a Space:
    Based on the icon or number of the space, the host reads the corresponding prompt or action from the question table or instruction sheet.

    Space Symbols and Their Meanings:

    • 🔴 Red Spaces (Passion): The player answers a reflective question about emotional or passion-related moments from their past.
      • Example: "What is your earliest memory of feeling deeply loved or cared for?"
    • 🔵 Blue Spaces (Trust): Prompts about people or moments that taught the player about connection or trust.
      • Example: "Who was your first real friend, and what did they teach you about trust?"
    • 🟢 Green Spaces (Growth): Prompts about personal lessons or challenges that helped the player grow.
      • Example: "What difficult moment in your life became your greatest teacher?"
    • 🎭 Activity Space: The player must complete an interactive activity, which could involve the group or personal reflection.
      • Example Challenge: "Share a funny or embarrassing memory from your childhood that makes you laugh now."

  3. Earn Love Threads for Progress:

    • Players earn 1 thread (Passion, Trust, or Growth) for answering a question. They can also recieve 2 thread (Passion, Trust, or Growth) when asking other players extra bonus open-ended question or if the player answers a players' open-ended question. Completing a group activity may earn bonus threads.

  4. Weaving the Tapestry:

    • Players record earned threads on their Tapestry Tracker, visually representing their progress toward building their personal Tapestry of Love.

Winning the Game:

  • The game ends when all players have made it to the finish box of the board, symbolizing the completion of their reflections on the past.
  • The winner can either be:
    • The first player to reach the center, OR
    • The player with the most threads collected across all categories (Passion, Trust, Growth).
