About this tradition
Día de los Muertos is a time to remember and honor people who have died, with deep roots in Mexican Indigenous traditions and Catholic observances. Around November 1 and 2, many families share memories, visit graves or create ofrendas with photographs, flowers and meaningful offerings, though customs differ across communities.
A distinct remembrance tradition, not a version of Halloween. Dates, religious meanings and practices vary among Mexican and diaspora communities.
Try a little creative play
If you wish, draw a favorite memory of someone you remember with love. You may keep it private.
Print, draw, and share in your own way. Every activity is optional. Creative play, not therapy.
